Overview

Resonate Global Mission, an agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), has an opening for a full-time Development Officer for the Western US region. The purpose of this position is to generate financial support for the ministry of Resonate Global Mission, focusing on raising long and short term funds to support ministry through building strategic relationships with current and prospective supporting individuals, foundations, and churches.

PURPOSE

To generate financial support for the ministry of Resonate Global Mission, an agency of the Christian Reformed Church, focusing on raising long and short term funds to support ministry through building strategic relationships with current and prospective supporting individuals, foundations, and churches. The development officer will implement a regional strategy that supports global ministry in collaboration with the advancement missions support director, agency director, regional leaders, and missionaries in consultation with the development team.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Develop stewardship-focused relationships with individuals, churches, and foundations to generate support for the ministry.
  2. Working alongside regional leaders, develop and implement a regional fundraising strategy.
  3. Strengthen and expand the financial support from individuals, churches and foundations, including major gifts.
  4. Participate in the development of missionary support networks in collaboration with the church relations and support network developer.
  5. Set priorities, donor visits, and program activities so planned giving commitments to the agency increase annually.
  6. Serve on the development team and contribute to the development of effective and innovative strategies for fundraising across a global network.
  7. In collaboration with regional leaders, represent the agency at special events, churches, classis meetings, and others, as needed.
  8. Invite constituents to join in praying regularly for the agency’s work being done.
  9. Maintain accurate records in the database(s) on activities including, but not limited to travel, donor/church visits, conversations, requests to invite people to become involved, results, next steps (moves management), special projects, which are related to the agency’s work.
  10. Collaborate with support staff for prospect research and proposal writing.
  11. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  1. Be a professing member of a Christian church and agreement with the Statement of Faith documents listed in the Covenant for Office Bearers for the CRC.
  2. Demonstrated ability to encourage and inspire individuals to support ministry.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Proven ability to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively within a team environment.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and external contacts.
  6. Proven ability to plan and organize tasks and responsibilities including multitasking, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
  7. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. Demonstrated proficiency in commonly used computer applications, internet research and constituent relationship management tools.

     

 

Additional Information

  1. Bachelor’s degree required.
  2. At least three years development experience with proven effectiveness in fundraising
