World Renew, an agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America has a full-time position opening for a Senior Administrative Assistant. This position will work 40 hours per week (5 days/week) in the Grand Rapids offices. The position is responsible for all administrative and office support activities of the US World Renew Co-Director.

Position Description

 

Position Title:            Senior Administrative Assistant

Department:             Systems Group, U.S.A.                      

Status:                     Full-time, non-exempt

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

  1. Plan and execute the process for recruitment of agency board members, effectively liaising with denominational classis, diaconal conferences, and other groups to achieve a diverse delegate and member at large agency board membership, to ensure alignment with denominational and agency diversity goals
  2. Manage special projects pertaining to organizational alliances and task forces including required research in a bi-national context e.g. ACT Alliance, Integral
  3. Answer and screen telephone calls, provide information as needed
  4. Respond to request for information and materials and ensure proper handling of correspondence, as directed
  5. Monitor director’s e-mail correspondence and forward to other appropriate staff, as directed
  6. Maintain director’s calendar, schedule appointments and coordinate all logistics for meetings and routine conferences, including travel, refreshments, meals, lodging, and travel visas
  7. Coordinate and organize all aspects of board meetings and annual conference (s) (e.g., researching and selecting venues,  arranging travel and transportation of attendees, collecting and organizing event material and other necessary logistics)
  8. Prepare, including drafting and editing, correspondence, presentations, and reports for assigned governing bodies
  9. Communicate information on behalf of director, as requested
  10. Organize and maintain all correspondence, files and official organizational records
  11. Record and distribute minutes from assigned board and committee meetings
  12. Prepare and process invoices, check requests and expense reports as applicable
  13. Routine copying, printing and gathering of information, as needed
  14. Work with appropriate departments to ensure that information is correct and up to date on applicable web-sites
  15. Perform other duties as assigned

  8. Proven ability to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively within a team environment
  9. Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
  10. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and external contacts

Additional Information

  1. Some college coursework
  2. At least two years of work experience in an office environment
