Overview

Back to God Ministries International, an agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, has a full-time (40 hrs/wk) position opening for a Communications Specialist of Chinese Ministry in the Grand Rapids offices. The position will be in charge of internal and external communication for Chinese ministry; provide assistance to the team leader to building an effective communication with ministry partners; assist editor and production team by connecting with resources in English.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Draft and edit correspondence, reports, proposals, newsletters and presentations to management, advancement, churches and individuals, foundations and ministry partners.
  2. Write articles and collect stories, statics and other requested information for Chinese Ministry and BTGMI quarterly, monthly, and weekly publications.
  3. Coordinate production of and write video scripts and Power Point presentations.
  4. Assist the team leader to research, analyze, coordinate and maintain the partnership with other ministries organizations, churches and individuals in the States and other English speaking countries.
  5. Assist the editor team to communicate with the English resources within CRC agencies and other ministries share similar vision.
  6. Works closely with other staff and volunteers on writing and editing a variety of promotional materials.
  7. Conference and event planning and follow up.
  8. Handle other tasks as assigned by Chinese Team Leader.

Qualifications

  1. Able to support the mission, vision and values of the CRCNA.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in writing.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Excellent event planning skills.
  5. Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures preferred.
  6. Proven ability to be self-motivated, work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively within a team environment.
  7. Proven ability to plan and organize tasks and responsibilities including multitasking, setting priorities and deadlines, etc.
  8. Advanced proficiency in commonly used computer applications including virtual meeting software.
  9. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and external contacts.

Additional Information

  1. Bachelor’s degree required, in English, marketing, communications or another related field is an asset.
  2. At least two years of writing content, including two years of experience in an office environment.
  3. Bilingual in Chinese and English is required
