California Regional Immigration Organizer

The CRC Office of Social Justice is seeking an organizer in the California who is interested in the work of the Office of Social Justice and eager to help develop area congregations’ engagement and understanding of immigration. The organizer will develop relationships with church members to accomplish the primary responsibility of mobilizing congregations to engage in four focus areas: education, worship, advocacy, and connection.
The goal of the organizer is to increase area congregations’ engagement with both the Office of Social Justice and immigration issues. The organizer will help connect congregations to engagement opportunities provided by the field coordinator and implement other creative ideas to engage congregations. The organizer will work directly with the OSJ field coordinator and provide regular updates to track progress.
A strong organizer will be able to work with minimum supervision, have a basic understanding of U.S. immigration issues, skilled in building connections and networking, and will have strong initiation skills.
This position will begin July 1, 2018 and end on June 30, 2019. The organizer will receive a $3,000 stipend within this period, receiving checks for $1,500 in December 2018 and June 2019.
