  • Overview

    Back to God Ministries International (BTGMI), an agency of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA) has a part-time (up to 20 hours/week) opportunity for an Intern with the Chinese ministry for Winter 2019.  The Chinese Ministry Intern would be primarily responsible for coordinating efforts to tailor a Chinese orientation and a media orientation to the training materials of our ministry partners.  The ideal candidate for this position would be bilingual (Mandarin, English) with excellent written and spoken communication in both languages, especially translating from English to Chinese, and some theological training. Preference will be given to theological/ministry students who plan to return to China to lead churches and ministries, and who are eligible for OPT status through their school.


    The application deadline is January 25, 2019.



    1. Assist the communications team to tailor a Chinese orientation and a media orientation to the training materials of our ministry partners.
    2. Write and edit or translate articles for various channels such as The Banner, newsletters, email, and CRC News.
    3. Assist with creative writing and story development.
    4. Complete administrative tasks as needed, such as contacting ministry partners and preparing the communications.

    Supervisory Responsibilities



    1. Classroom or workplace experience with communications, writing or similar areas.
    2. Demonstrated creative writing skills.
    3. Desire to work in the non-profit sector.
    4. Mature faith in Jesus Christ.
    5. Task-oriented, organized, with good time-management skills.
    6. Desire and ability to creatively contribute and generate new and original ideas.
    7. Highly productive with minimal guidance or supervision.
    8. Inspires others with enthusiasm and energy.
    9. GPA 3.0 or higher.
