Washington Climate Witness Project Regional Organizer
Must live in Washington
The Climate Witness Project (CWP), a ministry of the Office of Social Justice and World Renew, is seeking a regional organizer in Washington state concentrating in the Seattle area. Regional organizers help congregations of the Christian Reformed church and other denominations respond to the climate crisis. The organizer will serve from the current date to June 30, 2020 and will receive a stipend of $1,250. The agreement is renewable.
The regional organizer will work with existing CWP congregations by support each existing congregation as it engages in work under the 4 Pillars of the CWP which includes worship, education, advocacy and energy stewardship.
The organizer will recruit climate witness partners who make a promise to engage the climate crisis in a way that makes them feel comfortable. Once three partners sign up, the CWP views their congregation as a climate witness congregation
Create two educational events in Washington state.
Make contact, explore, and implement a collaboration with a local or state level organization addressing climate change.
Participate in the monthly regional organizer telephone meetings with organizers from Canada and the US.
